OLED lighting technology is heralded for its versatility, efficiency and superior visibility. Available as part of the optional Technik package, digital OLED rear lights employ active lighting technology to group the OLEDs into small, individually controllable segments with a three-dimensional layout producing an impressive light arrangement. In addition, depending on the driving mode, the character of the tail light signature changes automatically when in use. The OLED rear-light cluster is also equipped with proximity detection, so that if a road user approaches a stationary Q5 Sportback TFSI e from the rear to within less than two metres, all the OLED segments light up in warning.
