Whether Internet, telephone, radio or TV: people gather information and communicate more and more frequently on the basis of digital transmission technologies. This also now applies to digital TV via antenna. The international standard DVB-T has numerous advantages as opposed to analogue technology and offers an abundance of new application options.
Background
DVB-T stands for Digital Video Broadcasting - Terrestrial and heralds the removal of the analogue PAL technology that has been used for more than 50 years. The starting signal for DVB-T was in 2002. Since then, country-wide coverage has continuously increased. Today, DVB-T programmes can be received in large regions and the offer grows almost daily. But DVB-T is not only restricted to the Federal Republic of Germany. DVB-T is an international standard and is applied all over the world, in some countries bearing another name. Many urban centres in Germany and Europe are switching from analogue broadcasting to the higher-quality digital broadcasting and are therefore stopping analogue broadcasting.
Note
The TV sound is played during the journey, the picture is only active when the vehicle is stationary.
