This year, the meeting of the world’s best female golfers in Germany was once again presented by Audi. As the presenting sponsor of the UniCredit Ladies German Open, Audi provided the vehicles for the shuttle fleet as well as an A5 Cabriolet and an R8 Spyder as prizes for the best golfers. The tournament was held from 19 to 22 May at Gut Häusern, just outside Munich.
Once again for the fourth time the German round of the Ladies European Tour (LET) met everyone's expectations; a high-quality starting line-up, exciting duels on the green and an attractive accompanying programme. Since Thursday a total of 126 players, including six amateurs, have been competing for victory in the tournament with record prize money amounting to EUR 350,000, in front of 31,450 spectators.
After days of excitement, Diana Luna finally took the win. She sets off for her home in Italy in an A5 Cabriolet, provided by Audi as a prize for the winner. The R8 Spyder, which was offered as a bonus for a hole-in-one at the 15th, is now on its way back to Ingolstadt – once again this year none of the international competitors managed to get the ball in the hole in one stroke.
This has been Audi's fourth year as the presenting sponsor and vehicle partner of Germany's most important ladies' golf tournament. In addition to the prizes and the vehicles for the shuttle fleet, Audi also provided an insight into its model range at Gut Häusern. This included for the first time the new Q3 SUV, which attracted a lot of attention from spectators and players alike at Audi's golf terminal. On Monday Audi opened the tournament week with the handover of ten Audi A3 Cabriolets to selected players. Other high points of the event included the "Audi Star Talk" programme, which was transmitted from the club house with guests Sandra Gal and Oliver Kahn, as well as the ProAm tournament with celebrity guests such as Uli Hoeneß and Karl-Heinz Riedle.
