Audi and AC MilanSuccess allied to tradition

With its Italian importer acting as intermediary, Audi has another prominent name on its list of partnerships in international football: the players and officials of one of Italy's oldest clubs, AC Milan, have been driving cars with the four-ring badge since 2007.

Italian Champions 17 times, five-time winners of the Italian Cup and six-time Champions League winners, "Milan" are unquestionably one of Europe's top clubs. The team coached by Massimiliano Allegri is based at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, one of the most awe-inspiring venues in the world, with its capacity of over 85,000. International superstars such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Pato have the entire range of sporty Audi models to choose from. In return, the Ingolstadt-based carmaker advertises itself on perimeter banners in the stadium, through other partnerships and at joint events. AC Milan was also one of the teams competing at the Audi Cup 2009.

The importance of the partnership with Audi was underlined by Adriano Galliani at the handover of the cars in Monza at the start of the 2008/2009 season. "On behalf of our entire club, allow me to say how immensely proud we are that this prestigious carmaker has chosen us as its footballing ambassadors in Italy," remarked AC Milan's President. "We are extending an association between two brands that are immediately recognisable the world over: wherever they are seen, the red and black shirt and the four rings are icons of excellence, prestige and remarkable achievement."
