In early 2009 two successful partners joined forces: Audi is the official automotive partner of the professional football club 1899 Hoffenheim. The trainer and officials of the Bundesliga club are driving cars bearing the four rings.
This involvement is a ‘home match’ for Audi: the AUDI AG production plant in Neckarsulm is located just 30 kilometres from Hoffenheim. Many of the 13,600 employees of the plant, where the Audi R8 sports car is also manufactured, have for years followed the fortunes of this neighbouring team on their road to success. This partnership now officially underscores the mutual commitment. Audi provides trainers and officials of 1899 with vehicles from its sporty model range. In return, Audi is prominently featured in the new Rhein-Neckar Arena, located directly adjacent to the A6 motorway and across from the Messe Sinsheim trade fair centre. The new home of the Bundesliga club, offering space for over 30,000 fans, was officially opened in 2009 and is one of the most modern stadiums in Europe.
