Audi TraditionDonau Classic 2010

190 classic cars took to the start of the 5th Donau Classic 2010 (24 - 26 June). Ingolstadt was the focal point of this classic car rally.

The route passed through the Donaumoos, Altmühltal and Hallertau regions. Once again, Audi Tradition was the main sponsor of the event and, to celebrate 30 years of quattro, sent nine vehicles from the quattro era and a further three automotive rarities.

The sensation: the event was won by multiple Mille Miglia champion Luciano Viaro and his blind co-pilot Daniela Fiordalisi in an Audi Urquattro. Audi Tradition supports “M.I.T.E.”, a unique project aimed at giving the visually impaired the opportunity to play an active role in classic car rallies.

Further highlights of this event:

  • On 24 June, rally legend Walter Röhrl drove the lead car, an Audi quattro Rallye A2.
  • The two-time German rally champion was behind the wheel of an Audi Sport quattro Rallye on all three days.
  • Audi boss Rupert Stadler tested the Brazilian DKW GT Malzoni dating from 1965.
  • Michael Dick, Audi Board Member for Technical Development, took the wheel of an Audi 80 Rallye from 1979.
  • Bavarian State Minister Christine Haderthauer drove a DKW 3=6 Special Class Type F93.
