In 1998 AUDI AG acquired the share capital of the sports car manufacturer Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A., resulting in the foundation of Automobili Lamborghini Holding S.p.A. This company will uphold the tradition and continue the success of the famous sports car manufacturer into the future.
Lamborghini – future with tradition
Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. develops and builds the legendary sports cars with the bull emblem. In 2003 the Gallardo was introduced as a second car line in addition to the already well-known Murciélago.
Lamborghini ArtiMarca S.p.A. is responsible for merchandising and markets Lamborghini accessories and exclusive lifestyle articles.
The various areas of activity are brought together under Automobili Lamborghini Holding S.p.A.
In September 2000 VOLKSWAGEN GROUP ITALIA S.P.A. was also fully integrated into the holding. This company functions as the general importer for the Audi, SEAT, Škoda, Volkswagen Passenger Car and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle brands in Italy.
